Lists: Top 100 films of the last 25 years (part 1)

I was online the other day and found this at ew.com. It's their top 100 films of the last 25 years. I'm not entirely sure why they'd do that now... 1983 to 2008 seems like an odd time line. It's almost like they picked an arbitrary number out of a hat. Anyways, I pretty much disagreed with half of it. I don't think the best movies should necessarily be the highest grossing movies. So, I decided to make my own list. Initially it was going to be top 25... but it turned into 100. This is a three part-er, Part 1: 1983-1993. Part 2: 1994- 2007 and Part 3: The Top Ten. The movies will be displayed in year of release (with the exception of the top 10) and the List includes the name of the director(s). Again, here is their top 100, if you want to compare. I give you part 1, 1983 - 1993.

Umm, I don't see The Breakfast Club, or The Goonies, or The Labyrinth on your list anywhere. Were you even paying attention in the 80's? These movies are killer.

Aside from those little oversights, the list is pretty neat. :) I haven't seen most of these movies yet.

ah man I missed Breakfast Club!!! Labyrinth is good, but it's not Dark Crystal good.... But Dark Crystal was released in 1983 so it just misses... actually 82 was a good year, A couple other movies that would have definatly made the list from 82 are Werner Herzog's Fizzacalardo and Bergman's Franny and Alexander.
