Note from the Editor: Perks of blogging

I started writing this blog a couple of months ago, and I wasn't expecting much from it. I thought I'd just have a place to write about my interests, get bored with it in a month and then it'd become one of the many pages floating in Blogger purgatory. I didn't really expect anyone to read it. I definitely didn't expect to get any freebees from it. Yet, a few weeks back, the good people at Matchstick.ca send me an email asking if I'd want to take part in one of their word of mouth advertising programs. It was for the new Microsoft Zune. I'd be only one of 300 people to have it in Canada. I love free things, and I love checking out new technology, so I said sure, answered a few questions, and now I'm in possession of a shiny black 8gb Zune (on which I'm currently listening to Beck's new album).

But here's the problem. The Zune isn't mac compatible (or at least it isn't yet). That's ok, I thought, I can just use one of my friends PC's. Maybe my girlfriend, or my bestfriend, or roommate... but alas, all Mac owners. Turns out all my friends own macs. Luckily, my family back home in Orillia Ontario are PC users, and I finally got to use my Zune yesterday. If I could pick one thing the people at zune should work on FAST, it is to make it mac compatible.
I'll post a review of the Zune when I've had the chance to use it some more.

One more surprising perk, I've had a couple of websites interested in my writing for them. Very soon I'll begin writing articles for Culturazzi and Indyish.com. Check em' out, they are both fantastic, a must see for anyone interested in the arts.

I'll hopefully be back soon with an interview (just waiting for some answers), this week in Toronto, and another edition of the Great Album Series.
