It's been a while since I've done one of these. Let me start by saying all I've listened to in the last week is Bob Dylan. Seriously. That's it. I bought 4 albums, and I'm reading his biography (Chronicles part 1... it's fantastic BTW). Now, that was until today. I thought, maybe I should listen to something else. I sat down and put Andorra on. Wow. This is easily one of the best written albums of the last decade, and it gets better with every listen. Rumor has it, front man Daniel Snaith, spent countless hours dissecting pop songs. From the Beatles to Britney Spears. On first listen you may not hear it. But Snaith is like a mad scientist. He's made a pop music Frankenstein.
But on to the track. Check out Melody Day and other songs by Caribou here
Melody Day jumps right into it. An up tempo admission of guilt, featuring gloc, guitar, samples, and a whole slew of percussion. For me the song hits a peak in the chorus. A drum attack accompanied by falsetto voice and wailing guitars. Oh, and I think I detect a penny whistle. Awesome.

Be sure to check out all the video's on Caribou's myspace. Great band.
