This Week in Toronto June 11-17 EDITED!

THURS JUNE 11

Tales of the Uncanny: Owen Pallett and Do Make Say Think at Dundas Square FREE!
Didn't know anything about this until today. Part of Illuminato festival. This is pretty damn cool! An old German silent horror film called Tales of the Uncanny has been remastered and will be showed accompanied by the music of Owen Pallet, Robert Lippok and Do Make Say Think! Wow, this is awesome!! AND FREE!!

FRI JUNE 12

$100 playing at Horseshoe tavern
I still haven't gotten a chance to see this great band live. Let me know what you think of them!

SAT JUNE 13

The Man With The Golden Arm
playing at Cinemateque Ontario
For those who disregard Frank Sinatra as an actor I present to you this film! Sinatra plays a drug addict musician, and he's brilliant. It'll be a great print as well, you can always count on Cinemateque.

SUN JUNE 16 (EDIT)

The Book of Gnomes at Tranzac
Ben from the Book of Gnomes just told me about this event, so that's why I didn't get it into the first run. So, go see Book of Gnomes, and from Halifax, Paper Beats Scissors! (They are really good, and it looks like they have new music up on their myspace).

The Pink Mountaintops at Horseshoe Tavern
This would be a great way to spend your Sunday night. Listening to the Psychedelic rock sounds of Pink Mountaintops.

MON JUNE 15

Shawn Clarke and Gord Zubrecki at Press Club
Yay! Gord is great, and he has a fantastic band. Plus I'm playing! Come see me, have a beer at one of toronto's finest bar's The Press Club.

WED JUNE 17

Arts and Crafts Showcase at Courthouse (57 Adelaide East)
You've got The Happiness Project, Jason Collett, Years and Apostle of Hustle... plus surprise guests!! One of two showcases for Arts and Crafts for NXNE. But you need a wrist band to get in, so hurry up!

umn. "Sunday June 16th" was actually Sunday June 14th... and Great Aunt Ida opened for Pink Mountaintops and it was our best show yet. THEN Tuesday June 16th the Gnomes played with Paper Beat Scissors and we were humbled and awed. they were really fantastic! Your calendar appears to be muddled... backward even?
We love you Shawn. Thanks for the support regardless!
